2019 is a wrap, ladies and gentlemen

We rarely get tired when we are doing something interesting and exciting. — Dale Carnegie
“Every task, goal, race and year comes to an end…therefore, make it a habit to FINISH STRONG.” — Gary Ryan Blair
It’s been a while…
Apologies to those of us that kept emailing and texting, asking me why I wasn’t sending out FVS weekly. Due to certain upgrades in my business, and a bit travel it brought with it, I wasn’t able to keep up with sending FVS out every week.
Come 2020, I will get back to it although I might tweak the frequency to a bi-weekly or monthly thing.
The mission of FVS newsletter is and will always be to inspire personal development and growth by leveraging on knowledge in articles, books and TED talks.
2019 is a wrap.
I would say based on My Life Compass, that it was a good year. 4 years ago I stopped evaluating how my year went based on how I felt and started using data. I collect data points about 7 areas of my life weekly/monthly using a framework that breaks my life into these categories:
- Spiritual — I believe this is the foundation for life
- Ministry/Personal Impact — How I am impacting people around me
- Business/Career — The work I do
- Personal Development/Growth — How I make sure I am growing
- People Relationships/Social — Friends&Family — Love
- Health/Wellness — Making sure I prioritize wellness
- Financial Intelligence
- Giving — I believe in giving
- Earnings — How I optimize growth in what I make
- Savings/Investments — Discipline in planting for more
I don’t think they need a lot of definition, they are pretty straight forward.
At the end of a year or start of the next, I repurpose 2 spreadsheets for
- reviewing how the year has gone and
- planning & documenting my progress on these 7 pillars for the new year
In the past 2 years, by this time of the year, I always share this framework with friends and family.
My Christmas gift. Here it is: FVS 2019/2020 Year Compass
Here is another version from yearcompass.com
I am glad that it has helped a lot of us over the years. Help your friends and family share with them as well :)
For some of us, that use another framework, do share with me so I can share with the FVS community which is now 200 people strong.
If you have any questions on the documents feel free to reach out to me.
Next Year, I’ll try to scale up some initiatives I’ve been playing with. You can also reach out if you want to be part of it.
